STIMULATING THE SENSE OF TOUCH ! ARTIFICIAL SKIN

 

Artificial skin is totally a revolution in this modern world . It works on the principle of streching.., streching fabric across the skin makes the brain think you are touching something . It feels like a robot can touch anything deep inside the ocean or in any adverse condition . Helpful to replace the burnt skin , and developed by the engineers of Australia .  "A surgeon can wear our gloves and can touch a patient far away " says an engineer THANH NHO DO .. who led design of the new skin stretch device SSD. 

Now what matters is mechanism , scientists worked out many ways to improve haptic devices. Some used VIBRATIONS , and others used MOTORS to physically push the skin but after these tremendous efforts , they require uncomfortable parts but the main task was to provide a comfortable artificial skin to the victims "Most of them have a big motor , and when it moves on the skin it is quite uncomfortable." ..As said where there is a will there is a way , here is the way to design something that could slide or stretch over the skin .

The SSD is made up from apiece of fabric having tiny , fluid filled tubes have been swen . These tubes are connected to the small disk called tractor . This tractor cotains a small motor allowing it to move to small area ,as we need something to stretch . A three dimensional force acts on this fabric bringing up a resultant to move in a particular direction . It resembles to artificial muscles ,the tubes contract and relax they stretch the fabric on someones' skin .. just like the muscles do ...this is just deceiving the brain with  a strechable fabric.
